French corkscrew patented by Jacques Pérille under the n° 186,560 on October 24, 1887, called DIAMOND in reference to the nut with facet. It is superb model out of nickel-plated steel with a mechanism made up of three parts: one to two columns onto which is welded a threaded tube, the sleeve with its “diamond” which comes to be screwed on the first part and finally a prolonged free stem on a side by a full worm surmounted by the famous handle with its two spheres. Another characteristic meets on this apparatus on the level of the head, a “clutch” made up of teeth which come to be imbricated in order to allow the increase of the stem to allow the extraction of the stopper. It should be noted that there is the same corkscrew assembled with handles in buffalo, stag, bone or ebony.
