Description |
In 1891, Carl Hollweg was granted an american patent 447,185 for a collapsing corkscrew that protected the pocket from the worm. Hinges in four places allow the user to close the corkscrew for storage or fully open it for usage; the case acts as the handle. Thet have been producted in several sizes and shapes. Some have been used for advertising purposes. A 1913 catalog from Lewis Brothers of Montreal, a hardware wholesaler, offered this corkscrew as the “telescope”. They sold them for 2 dollards per dozen |
